Cubase / Fruity Loops Bug

The Original BeatMinstrel
I've been running fruity loops 3.56 as a vsti via cubase vst/32 and I have had no problems with it for years.

So I decided to upgrade to FL Studio 6 pro to advantage of all the new features it has to offer.

But some how I've ran into a problem with this new version of FL studio. Where if I make an instance of FL Studio as vsti in cubase it will load fine the first time. The problem is when I save my cubase project the next time I load it up it will lock up cubase and therefore I can no longer work on my project.

To make things worse FL Studio vsti will not instantate again. It will continously lock up cubase until I reset the setting "program>fl studio 6>advance>reset setting" in the start menu. Then it starts all over again.

It seems if I try to instantate FL Studio vsti more then twice it will hang cubase vst/32.

The funny part of this whole thing is I can still run my old Fruity Loops perfectly with no problems.

Has anybody experience this bug? Is there a fix?

I have not had any recent problems with my computer software or hardware so the only thing different is my FL studio upgrade.

Here's my computer spec

Window 2000 Professional service pack 4

AMD XP 3200+

1.5 GB DDR ram

250 GB HD

Matrox g400/g450 DualHead Video Card

Aardvark Direct Pro 24/96 - Sound Card

Cubase VST/32

FL Studio 6 pro

and old version of fruity loops 3.56 pro

The only thing that seems to work correctly is FL Studio as stand alone or thru Rewire. Which I much prefer FL as a VSTi.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thx

win2000? with those PC specs?
Damn bro get atleast xp!

It could be :

you had two old versions of software = played nicely together
now your running a spanking new version of Fl and a old POS sequencer! = plays shitty together

i know im really no help...im bored.

A friend of mine got a (legal!) copy of FL4 (I think) with some random item of studio equipment he got (MOTU interface, possibly?) so, as I'd had other friends recommend it, I thought I'd try running it alongside SX3.

CRASH.

Complete and total.

Took me ages to clear all the FL rubbish off my drive and get everything running again.

I stay with SX3 these days.

I've also posted this at technical support at www.flstudio.com. So far I've had no response and unable to obtain any relavent information to my problem there or on google.

LOL. I'm very happy with Win 2000 pro it extremely stable in my opinon. Hardly ever have any problems with it and it's not like I'm using Win ME;), com'on until they stop making updates for it. There is no reason for me to spend the extra cash for something that already works pretty good for me everyday. :p

Unfortunely I don't have the money to upgrade to SX or Cubase 4. So I'm stuck with what I got!! :(
