cubase error

i tried to install cubase on my pc tonight and it didn't work.
i got a message saying "procedure entry pint smapls_ip_ebp_12 could not be located in dynamic link library kernel32.dll"

i have windows XP is that the problem

I'm actually still a bit of a newbie, but I installed Cubase Go! 2.0 on my AMD XP 1700+ running on XP and hadn't any problems with the installation. But there a some little obstacles when you use Cubase in audio recording. One, that I can't mute any channels in the audio mixer, but I can do it in the arrangement window track?! So maybe something else is wrong with your installation. You could try to change the compabilitymodus of the setup.exe to Windows 95/98.
