I am presently a Emagic LAP user and am considering moving to Cubase since Emagic no longer supports Windows systems. My system configuration is:

P4 1.3 GHz
512MB SDRAM
60GB IDE Drive (Archive & Boot)
18GB SCSI Drive (Tracking and Mixing)
200GB 7200RPM External Firewire Drive (Storage)
120GB External USG Drive (Storage)
M-Audio Delta 1010
Windows XP Home Edition

I have read alot on this forum about problems with Cubase and the Delta 1010 but have not read alot of how well it works. I have grown to expect driver conflicts with Windows and have always worked my way through them so this does not scare me. What does concern me is shelling out the money for Cubase and then discovering that the problems are insurmountable then having to buy a new sound card.

Can anyone attest to cases of success with Cubase and the 1010?

Additionally if you have had success and could share your system configuration as a comparison it would be helpful.

Thanks much.

My delta 44 and cubase sx works perfectly together. as far as I know, delta 1010 and 44 uses the same asio driver, so you shouldnt have any problems. My pc configuration is 10 times worse than yours, bu t like I said, no problems. I also use delta 44 and and 2 liveplayer like cards sometimes when I need more than 4 channels and this stil works fine. But if you want to convince yourself you better get yourself trial version of cubase, im sure you can get it somewhere.

Thats it. I hope that i helped you somehow! :o  :D ;) :p :) :(

Thanks!!

Thank you very much for the feedback. I will see if I can find a demo somewhere.

Regards

I just got my Delta 1010 installed yesterday and it's working great!

Here's the machine I'm using for a comparison.

AMD Athlon XP1900+
EIDE 40GB 5400rpm for apps
EIDE 60GB 5400rpm for data
384MB pc2100 DDR RAM
Windows 2000
M-Audio Delta 1010

I just dumped 4 tracks down last night from my Fostex X-80 without any problems at all. I just had to setup all 8 inputs in the VST Connections and off I went.

Hello,
those of you who are using Cubase with the Delta 1010LT.. can you tell me about track monitoring performance?
I'm thinking about gettin one, so any opinions regarding performance / recording issues / compatibility problems.. would be highly appreciated.

thanks
