Whats the difference between Academic and other versions. Is it just the full version offered at a lower price, or is there a feature differential too?

you have to take a test before you can use it.

You have to proof that you are a student or a member of an educational facility. In my country, a student ID is enough.

Now if I can figure out a way to get two firepods and Cubase SX3 Academic without having to buy the Firepod/LE bundle.

I guess ebay would work for the firepods. Any ideas?

Hit ebay for the Firepods and academicsuperstore.com for the software. I have to say, though, that I haven't been happy with them on every occassion, but the product was always good.
