Will cubase 5 vst work with windows xp pro? Just now i have windows 98 running cubase vst 5. Before i move onto xp pro i need to know will i have to ditch my current version of cubase and buy sx?
Thanks for that, that is a relief. I have just got myself an upgrade and want to use xp pro but wasn't sure if i would have to splash out more cash for sx. Will have to save some more pennies before i get sx.
How's that ? I'm using SX 2 now, but had no problems with VST 5 before. There is an update available on the Steinberg website that brings it up to 5.1.....
already got it... there's some annoying delay on every action made by left clicking the mouse in the arrangement window... and i can't change the midi time code delay for separate channels... i can live without the mtc delay, but not with the mouseclick delay...
Sorry your not getting better advice, but I had no problems with it where as Chriss had problems. The only thing I could suggest is that with part of your upgrade maybe you could buy a new hard drive and use it for a fresh XP install. Then you will have your old hard drive available if it turns out that VST does not work for you on XP.
i think i'll just buy the upgrade to SE or SL and get it over with... i've grown too used to the cubase interface to make a shift over to cheaper products...
SE has some more limitations than SL obviously. If your not worried about recording more than 8 tracks at a time or running more than 48 tracks at a time then it should be ok. But one thing I noticed is that it doesn't seem to use the same audio engine as SX/SL.
