hey,

i'm hooking up my microphone as an exterior audio source but my M-Audio is not recognized on my program (or computer) and when i set up my "Mono in & Stereo out" the only option i have are "Stereo in" for the top and "mono Out"for the bottom, thus, leaving me to use nothing but the built-in audio. thanks for your solutions

I am not clear as to what you are asking...

So you have an M-Audio interface? If you computer or Cubase does not recognize it, then you need to download the driver from the M-Audio website. HERE

Start there and reply. :)

My Cubase (le6) shows M-A Delta of course but yours should show the AI.

Dave.

thanks guys! this fixed the issue but now the only issue is that when i play back what i recorded, it plays but there is absolutely no volume. any solutions?

No volume? Or no audio playback?

See that icon that looks like a speaker right next to the track arm (record) button? Toggle that. You should get playback if your output is set correctly. :)

no play back. yeah i armed the track but no sound comes out

Have you got output busses setup as per the diagram?
Once again it will be YOUR AI in the box not my Delta 2496.

yeah i had the monitor icon turned on throughout my recording and it simply will not play back to me

@ecc83: yeah i set up all my inputs and outputs to go through my M-Audio Fast Track but it still wont play back for me. P.S. what are you using to take snap shots of your screen. its very useful and i think it can better illustrate any further issues i have.

When the icon was lit, you should hear the incoming audio through the outs, but to replay the tape that needs to be off.
Can you confirm you have the output routing set in connections to the output device - we're having to guess what you're doing.

"what are you using to take snap shots of your screen. its very useful and i think it can better illustrate any further issues i have."

Get the shot you want on screen and then hit "Print Screen" (aka "prt sc") Note for some laptops you might have to hold "fn" +prt scr.
Open Paint from Accessories (I keep a shortcut in start) click Edit/paste or just Paste then save in Pictures or handier, "save as" on the Desktop.

Then post here as an attachment.

Dave.
