Hi,

This is a random accuring problem and i dont understand whats causing it to happen. When i go to record drums into my computer(core i3, windows 7, m330 @ 2.13ghz, 4gb3.8 usabe ram, 64-bit) and im recording sometimes up to 8 inputs at once, 7 drums mics and midi. I click record and the tracks pop up like their recording, but their is no line in the middle, unthen about 5 bars later the line shows up and this is when the click starts. So basicaly their is about a 5 bar lag of playback/recording when i start and when i stop playback/recording it keeps playing and recording for about 5 bars before it stops again. Everything is basicaly lined up times wise when it plays, no problems there, but its the 5 bar lag thats killing me when i start and stop recording. When i first installed cubase 5 it worked fine, no problems at all. When i started recording and stoped it, it did it right away no lag at all, but it seemed as i used it more over time the delay got longer and longer. I reformatted my computer and reinstalled everything and it was all good, but now its going back the 5 bar lag crap again. Any ideas of why this is happening??

Btw Tascam m-164uf for my audio interface

im willing to bet the markers at the top of the screen are set at bar five hence why recording starts there
move the markers and see if it helps

Thats a tough one, must be frustrating. How are you commanding the computer to record? by mouse or by keyboard? There are some pre-record/pre-click time settings in the "preferences" of Cubase 5 make sure they arent changing somehow. Is the CPU showing its workin real hard?
