Not too bad. Some of the lyrics lack emphasis or power.

Pretty good overall recording though, better than my boombox highschool recordings.

I think the recording quality is excellent man, and your timing is good. Im curious what you used to record?

I have a Behringer(I know) DDX3216 digital mixer that goes ADAT into my soundcard, a steinberg VSL2020. I use the mixer for its vast routing, pres, and convertors, none of the other stuff. Vocals and the guitars were all 57's. Drums were SPB1 overhead, 57 on bass and snare. Bass was direct. Strings were VST. I think that's it. I mix in the box in Sonar, using Behringer TRUTH's(they work great for me). I think that's it.

Damn man. Sounds good, definately for what you've got.

Keep it up!

Do you think you could hear this song on the radio and think it was a "hit" song? What would need to be done to take it to that level? Don't be gentle. Thanks alot guys

No, the singing is not good enough. There is not any depth of feel to the song or memorable riffing that stands out.

Hell, it's been an hour and I forgot the song completely.

Nice job dude! Nice tune and arrangement. Bass break is a bit weak. Vox are
a bit weak. But overall a nice tune. I really like the break at 1:07-1:11.
The spot between 2:41-2:58 could be a bit tighter.

I see Jake's point on the vocals, however I will have to disagree - I think the vocals have a very 80's feel to them, which I think sounds awesome. He is kinda sloppy starting around the second verse, so maybe just practice some more (work on controling the voice better), but I think the sound he is going for is very cool.

edit - really, this whole thing has a late 80's/early 90's feel that I just love. Thinking like Tears for Fears or The Cure or something. I am really digging the tune. I'm not a good enough sound guy to recommend what to fix on the recording, though.
