Crosstalk problems?

I only recently began using a computer to record music. The first problem I am having is: when I record in Sound Forge while playing back a previously recorded track, I get a little of the previously recorded track in the background of the new track. My setup is not pro ( a mic into a 4 track/mixer into a soundblaster 128 which is in a PII 400) but I was wondering if there is an inexpensive (or free!) way around this problem. I assume the problem occurs because I am passing both signals through the same soundcard. Any tips that you have would be greatly appreciated.

thats a hardware problem , not a software problem.. somewhere in your computers multimedia properties there should be a check box that says "monitor during playback" or something to that effect.. all you need to do is uncheck it..
