Hi,

may someone be so kind and help me make this tune better?

Things I'm concerned about:

- overall sound mix/master
- gramatically correct english lyrics (i'm not a native speaker)
- the female singer: i have another version with another singer here, please tell me if any of them girls sounds better suited for this song; I'm leaning towards the latter singer as she got the phrases pretty much correct unlike the former one, but I may end up scraping both of them in favor of a third girl I know.

The song is supposed to evoke a 70s ABBA/poprock tune and I recorded it in Cubase.

Many thanks!

A nice well mixed melodic number.... :) Personally I prefer vocalist number 1.

Thank you! I was told elsewhere the song lacks depth, i.e. the sound is too flat, so i experimented a bit with some excitation and HF reverb on the master fader, what do you think? Can I sign it up for Eurovision now? :D

I like 16 the best. Sounds the fullest. Some of her phrasing, like her "g" in "ing" is way too pronounced... Her "r"s are weird, too. Might be an accent issue with English. I think the vocals are mixed way too high. Vocals could use some reverb, too. Not bad.

I'm not sure which one I like better. The singer in 15 has a warmer sounding voice, but the singer in 16 has a clearer voice. The vocal in 16 can get a little abrasive on a syllable here and there. You can tell in both cases that English is not their first language.

I didn't care for the vocal treatment in15. Real wide reverb with a over hyped high end.

The snare sound is a little to "sharp" for the song. A little too snappy. I didn't care for the keyboard sound in the second verse.

Hmm, I was thinking, do you guys maybe know a native-speaking female singer who'd be willing to give this a shot? It seems noone I know here in Slovakia can get the english right...

I wouldn't worry about it too much. A little accent is sometimes a good thing. Go with whichever one looks the hottest and be done with it. :)

Mate, I find this singer 1, 2 ,3 stuff a bit sleazy... I'm not going to do your auditions. I liked them both exactly the same amount. You decide.

Work on giving the bass and drums some more reality and oomph. It's all a bit Euro uptight.
