Hey Guys!,
I guess I'll start out by introducing myself. My name is Jake, I'm 21 and I like to record music. Who knew? Anyways, over the years I have been trying to build up my equipment slowly but surely. I attend a university in Michigan and live in an apartment so my space and resources are very limited. I own a couple guitars (Fender Acoustic and a Strat) and some ok recording equipment (Line6 UX1, MXL 990, KRK Rokit 8's etc...) and have been messing around trying to get a good sound going so that I can start recording some music. I have also by trying to educate myself so that I can try and make myself sound decent. I have recorded a little bit of myself playing some guitar and would like for you all to critique the sound and overall quality of it. I was dinking around with some reverse reverb so that's the crappy sound when the riff breaks. Any tips and criticism is welcome. Thanks!

Hi Jake,

Your guitar sounds perfectly good. It's time to write some songs :)

Awesome! I like the sound of it. What kind of mic did you use on the guitar?

I used an MXL 990. My new Fast Track c600 with Pro Tools MP9 just came in today! I know what I'm doing for the rest of the day.

I have an MXL 990 but I've never used it on acoustic guitar. I'm gonna have to try that out later. Have fun with the new gear!

Great sounding guitar, whatever you did to record it and process it, you did it right. Looking forward to hearing more!
