Creating a God-Like Voice for commercials

I watched the guy who does VO stuff for WEBN in Cincinnati. First of all his voice was amazingly deep to start, and on top of that he said his secret was chain smoking an hour before he got started. If you guys can look up that stations website, if you hear him you'll know it. Its amazing how deep this guys voice is. So I'd say the right voice is more important than pitch shifting and reverb.
 
you could have a stupid guitar player put the mid line in the sub...true stroy...alot of God like was happing
 
It's like everything else you record-get the sound right going into the board and tweak from there.

Hmmm....

I thought that was for Beatles recordings. Isn't the rule play the tape at half speed for Satan and double the speed for Alvin and the chipmunks?
