creating a count off to an existing track?

Hi,
trying to make a demo for my cover band. I'd like to record myself drumming along to the original recordings of the songs we're doing then have the other band members record their parts with my drum track. The problem is that I need to create a count off so the other guys will know where the first measure starts. Is there any way to create a count off at the beginning? If so, how?

what I do when I need to do something like this is record the drums, then go back while listening to the drums and count quarter notes along with the drum track on the sticks. After doing that for a couple bars I zoom into the recording and align it so the first measure of counting is before the drums enter and the first count of the next measure is aligned with the first beat of the drum track.

I'm not sure what Adam was saying, so maybe this is the same thing, but:

If the song starts at zero, shift the whole song at least two measures back (to the right on your screen). Do it either by selecting all the tracks and dragging them, or else by pasting.

Now copy the first two full measures of drums and paste them to the front of the song. This can serve as a count in.

But in the future, make your life easier by ALWAYS recording two bars of count-in at the start of every new song.

or, to take what littledog said a step further, you could slide the tracks back a little, copy a single snare hit, and paste it in for a couple measures before the drums kick in

I generally slide my tracks to the right a few measures and add a midi drum hit ('sidestick' from the Cubase midi drum machine works pretty well) at the beginning.
