help please, does anyone know what kind of software i might need to burn a cd when my recording is complete? i will be using m audio interface with a sm 58 mic. on windows xp . no dvd burner. thanks for any replys,

ps, someone mentioned to me about the almighty button software. i just dont know if it will do what they say.

Windows Media Player can burn CDs. Just click the "Burn" tab at the top (assuming you're using version 11, but all newer versions can burn CDs), drag and drop the WAV files into the list and click 'Burn'.

There's also a lot of other software out there, some free and some not. I use CD Architect. But Windows Media Player is fine too and doesn't require any other software.

Danny has it in one.
I use Nero - an earlier version that doesn't have conflict probs with everything else on my machine. MWP is fine - lot's of folk swear by it - I couldn't get the hang of it & after getting confused in the albums/library section when trying to tidy things up I ended up wiping a whole pile of audio files from some cakewalk projects so I steer clear of it.

I find that iTunes works the best. Its free to download, and yes it works on a pc.

thanks nightfire, im absolutely pleased with all this great info!

after reviewing itunes i dont think its what im looking for. im still searching

I'm a big Nero fan... It is a pondersouly huge install unless you do the Custom and uncheck most of the crap you don't need; but the core app is great. They have a 30-day free trial, just hit download.com.

Just in case you are unaware, if you want an audio cd to play on a standard CD player, the wav files need to be 16-bit and 44.1.

all my stuff has not come in yet it will be a day or 2 before i can try anything. i am a complete nubie and much much to learn but you have to start somewhere lol. im just trying to learn what i can ahead of time. ive been looking at the almighty button SOFTWARE

seems that not many have ever heard of it. it seems like what im looking for. have any of you guys ever used it? there is a trial version and it sure is budget friendly on the purchase version, is it too good to be true? tell me what you think!

Never heard of it. You have a link to it?

Looks like a simple audio editor with recording and CD burning. Lots of them out there for free.

Are you looking for something to record with also, or just burn CDs?

will do, im just trying to keep things as simple as i can starting out. i will try to use the windows media player, and will settle on one the recording progs that has been recommended. thanks,
