Crazy Idea?

I had an idea that I'm not at liberty to try at the moment but thought I'd ask.

We use pop filters to get rid of the "P" sound and de-essers to rid of sibilance right? What if we had a small vocal booth (4w x 4L x 8T for example) with just fabric on the walls along with ....... each wall having a frame of screen door mesh spanning the width and heighth of each wall. It would be about 1" from each wall secured by wood frames. Would that act as some sort of high frequency diffusor with any advantages?
Sorry if this sounds strange but I'm just trying to think "outside the box" a little!!

Absorbing the sound in the booth is a good idea... but it won't absorb the pop sounds from the mouth to the mic...need that filter in between.

Stick to the cheap and easy pop filter

Sorry about the pre-post. I read the question wrong. Depending on the material used to absorb the frequency, It might work. Try different materials and see what works. Explore the other posts as well, I have seen a lot of posts on ways to absorb in different ways.

RF - I can see where you are coming from, most booths are tooooo dead in the highend. I like to use slots in this situ because they absorb the Low-mids which are always a problem with vocal sounds, PLUS they diffuse the high end keeping the vox sound bright..

Thanks for the replies..... for the record, I'm not necessarily looking to cure an existing problem... more or less I'm trying to think of ways to eliminate them before they occur.
My thinking behind this was that the screen would sort of filter the sound frequencies more evenly than gobbs of differnt types of foam. I noticed by reading the threads that frequency problems are usually treated individually, by slot resonators, bass traps etc etc. Since vocals aren't very loud (relatively speaking), the tight mesh seems like a good idea. I'll try it when I get up and running.
