Crate Diggers, can I get your opinion on...

...whether or not I should bother to try and fix my dad's old Sansui SR-232 Turntable and Sony TC-K7II Stereo Cassette Deck -OR- just go and purchase a new turntable, like say a Numark PT-01 ? All I want a turntable for is sampling vinyl . I won't be scratching or anything, I just want a turntable to spin the wax. What do you think?
 
There don't seem to be too many hi-fi people who hang out here. Have you looked for any hi-fi or DJ forums to ask your question?

You never know, someone one might pop up with some knowledge but don't hold your breath.
 
If it is a belt drive system, it may be more trouble than it is worth. Finding replacement parts isn't always easy (radio shack dosen't carry them any more) and even if you can find them they are difficult to install. Plan on dissassembling more than you expected then putting it back together and then the frustration of it still not working properly.
