Guitar User.
ok so i have a firepod and cubase LE running on my iMac G5 and i am getting a lot of crackle with it i am wondering what i can do about it. the crackle seems to be for the most part in the playback but it stays there when i mix down a file as well. i have 512MB of RAM on this thing so its not bad there and it seems that i get it without even using plugins. do you know of any buffer settings i might try or maybe a audio cleaner plug that would help me out? i do not have much money to spend on this but i would like some help at maybe tackling this problem. thanks guys

Using the Firepod's little brother the Firebox I had problems with crackles and drop outs and discovered that turning off the built in wireless on my laptop fixed it. You may be having a problem with something else in your system interfering with your Firepod. Also there are some sites out there that can give you an idea how to optimize your comp to make things run better.
One other thing my be your buffer settings.

Try lowering the sample rate to see if that helps. You might also want to shut down the programs running in the background.

i got it!

ok waht i had to do was change the sample rate it had set up so taht it was running at 24 bit 4100 and needed to be 9600 all set and fixed up :) i still would like to know why i had it set like that
