I've recorded a few songs with cubase LE and am looking to burning these on a CD but I keep getting invalid file format signs all over the place.I've got itunes and nero in my pc...the songs don't have a final mix to them yet,all I wanted to do was burn them to a CD so I can hear them more often and come up with more ideas for them.Anyone knows how it's done?I've never burned songs from cubase to cd before.;-)

ive never actually used cubase (although i have it) .... but im assuming that just like with any other program, you'd have to export the song to either .wav or .mp3 before you can burn it to a cd and listen to it...

im sure someone will chime in and correct me if im wrong

I'm assuming that *.cpr is the Cubase project file? I agree, that would have to be converted/exported to an actual audio file format before you could burn a music CD out of it.

Ok thanks I'll try it out.I just seem to have a hard time with iTunes but I'll see what I can do.

You're using iTunes for this? I'm surprised it could do something like that at all...I'd suspect Cubase would have an export to WAV function, then you use Nero to burn a music CD of that. Given I know ZIP about Cubase though. :D

Set your left and right locators, then do an audio mixdown under the file menu. Burn with nero

I'm in about the same situation as BillyBoy. I was able to set the right and left markers and convert the file to mp3, but the quality is really really bad. I guess I'm not surprised.

As another option, I tried to export the .cpr file and then email it to a friend who has much more advanced equipment and could probably burn it without converting to mp3/WAV/etc. format.

The problem is he can't open the file at all and judging by their size (about 13kb's) I'm guessing the entire track didn't get copied.

Anyone have suggestions?

13kb of a project file is like, .0001 seconds. Give or take, roughly. :p

I dont know if I can help you, but I used Cubase for like 3 days a while back and had the same problem. Yes you have to export it as a wav file, but also I think it had something to do with the sampling rate. I think it had to be set to the standard setting for Redbook CD. When I had it higher sampling rate, and I tried to export to a wav file when done, it said "invalid file format". When I changed it to 44K it worked.

Hope this makes sense and helps you. Its been awhile since I played with it.

Peace
AJ

You must have the left and right locators set properly on your project (you can enter these in the transport bar, or drag the blue arrows at the top of your project into the correct positions). Choose Export-->Audio Mixdown. Export as a Stereo-Interleaved Wave at 16-bit, 44.1k. Then, use nero or another burning program to create your cd.
