Hello II everyone,
I'm hoping some might be able to help me out. I need to convert my finished 32 bit songs to 24 bit for the final master. I'm wondering if i can use cool edit to convert them? if so, how do i dither down? and will they lose any quality?

thanks, doc:thumbs up::thumbs up::thumbs up:

Not sure what CEP has for conversion tools, but it's usually pretty straightforward....and no, the conversion shouldn't hurt the quality. AFA dither, it depends what options CEP has, and what you chose is kinda personal prefernce....it's not a night-n-day difference, even without any dither.

When you say convert to "final master"....are you sending the master files to someone else and they want it as 24 bit?
You could leave it at 32, and then just go down to CD 16 bit or whatever else you want, right from the 32 bit files....just pay attention to clipping/levels, since 32 bit will "hide" level overs, but lower bit files will not.

1. Open 32 bit file 2. Go to file menu and click on "save as" which opens the "save waveform as" window. 3. Click on "options' and click on down-facing arrow. 4. Scroll down to the 1st 24bit option and then click ok.
