Here's a cover (work in progress) I'm doing for fun.

the drums are by daviddelmo on Harmony-Central... thanks David

constructive feedback is welcome...

The guitar's are basically done... there's still work to do on the Bass and Bridge heavy Guitar parts. Once that's done, vocals next... collaboration anyone?

Stream: The End of Heartache

Download: The End of Heartache

I'll update the clip as I progress...

I haven't followed these guys much since the 1st album, well 2nd if you count the ferret records release as the 1st. I've heard this song before but not enough to nit pick your cover. Sounds pretty good overall. The drums im assuming were triggered. I suppose this is personal preference but they sound like they were programmed because the sounds are all the same with no real dynamics. With that aside, the snare sounds a little thin overe here and the overheads might could be a little brighter.

-Some timing flubs in the 3:50-4:00 or so section?

hope this helps

I really like the guitar tone. What equipement, and setup to get it? Very cool. Sounds good so far.

Coming from a huge KSE fan, that is turning out awesome.... The drums could be better though.. Guitar tones are the highlight, would love to hear it with vocals.

thanks Ed...

here's the chain:

EMG81 -> 5150II -> Hot Plate -8db -> Mesa 2x12 V30 -> MD421 on one speaker and e609S on one speaker

thanks for listening... the drums are not my doing, but I'll see if I can help them along.

Good guitar playing and tone. I'd like to hear the Eb-D-Bb figure that repeats in the beginning at a little higher level. The cymbal sounds a bit artificial when it's all alone, but good when the gtr's alongside.

Just tried again. Same result. Oh, well... story of my life...

Thanks for the input... I'm going to bring up the intro riff and see if I can beef up the kit some. I really appreciate this kind of critique... most helpfull.

Okay... UPDATE #2 is uploaded

I devoted some effort to the bridge and re-tracked several guitar parts...also I spent some time on the mix. I think this mix is better... let me know.

Constructive feedback is very welcome... but please limit mainly to the guitars. The drums are a backing track and control is somewhat limited to tweaking at the edges.

Some of you had problems with the NoWhereRadio download, so I've added a new download link...

I'm working on switching from NoWhereRadio... for now just go to my page and you'll see The End of Heartache

Go to Clip

Alternate (128kbit) Download: The End of Heartache

Maybe vocals soon... and I'll update the clip as I move along...

No direct linking is allowed at nowhere....

Other link works...
Having listened to this song EXTENSIVELY, and having briefly tried figuring it out (thanks for clarifying a few things in your recording! :D ) I gotta say it sounds pretty damned accurate. Nice playing, and nice guit tone.

There is a small pause @ 3:07 where it seems one guitar drops out.

The part @ 3:36 just doesn't quite sound right, like there is a note missing or something, but this may very well just be me :o

Can't wait to hear vocals on this!

I'll check... I can direct link on different computers... go figure... thanks.

well, as for the direct link for the MP3, looks like Waldo has blocked that privilege. I thought I had purchased that capability, but I guess I don't understand his rules well enough.

Really... thanks a lot for the detail

at 3:36 I have been back and forth on this one... I think my phrasing may need adjusting...

Like I said, the "missing note" thing may be just me, as that was one of the parts I had the most trouble with. Maybe it's because Iwas trying to insert a note where there was none!

Lemme know what you figure out...

Sonixx, looks like you are using links copied from your NWR page and not your DL links. Use the 'get links' feature from your MP3 Manager to get Direct Links, or they will continue to fail for the majority of people.
