;) I will buy a compressor/Limiter that is under 200 dollars as soon as possible for recording of lead-vocal. I keep thinking about them: Samson C-com16, Behringer MDX4600 Multicom Pro-XL Compressor and Alesis 3630 Dual-Channel Compressor/Limiter. But i can't make up my mind, i haven't got enough experience of choosing a compressor which suits me, So i need your suggestions, which one above or else is good for lead vocal, and price is under 200 dollars.

Thank you!!!! :o

A used DBX 160x or xt is about as good as your going to find in that price range. The RNC would be my next choice.

I personally am a fan of most DBX products, when it comes to compression. Any DBX compressor that you're willing to put money into, will repay it's value and more.

:D Yo Navores:

The RNC is a good choice. Reasonable price and it has a "push me" button that sets the compressor in a very nice mode. If you don't like the mode, you can twiddle the dials even after pushing the "button."

If I had a unit that was better, it would cost more and I would say it's a dandy. But, the RNC is well worth its medium cost.

Green Hornet :D :D

For a lead vocal track, I'd suggest trying an opto-compressor. In that price range, I'd look for a used ART Levelar or a Joemeek.

anything mentioned except that crap on your original list.....go another hundred and get an ART Pro VLA...plug it in...never look back....short of that RNC...or DBX with softknee compression....you're not going to track with it are you???

track with NOTHING and get the signal as hot as you can...compress later ...if the singer needs it because they have shitty mic technique then youve got your hands full....

i have a dbx 266 im actually to get rid off, i recently upgraded to waves, os if you are interested le tme know an di can put it on ebay or something. id be happy with 100 bucks. let me know aweaton< atsign >purdue.edu

$100 is pretty fair for a DBX 266, if you can afford a 166 or even better a 160, it will sound much better though.
