I've looked around, and I can't quite understand something. What do I need to be able to export multiple tracks at once, each one being editable on the screen? My current equipment i thought i needed for this is, a mixer, and a soundcard with 8 rca sets. The m audio 200 dollar one. Am I missing something, just don't know quite how to make sense of this, kinda slow with wires. And could i use 2 different mixers for this? in sort of a diasy chain fashion maybe? thanks for looking at my probably stupid question. XP

Im not sure I understand you....are you trying to take a song that you have heard on the radio and split it up into seperate tracks???

I want to be able to play drums with several mics on different pieces, and upload it into protools real time on separate tracks, so the volume levels are adjustable post recording. With that I was also just throwing in if it was possible to have multiple mixers to add more inputs into the soundcard. I am just figuring out what exactly i need to buy to make this happen. thanks much.

You need is a soundcard or interface that can handle as many individual track inputs that you need to record. Multiple mixers is not a solution. What's your budget? You can go a couple of different routes....
