Cornford?!?!?!?!?!?!?

WTF!

Everyone one this BBS wants one. No one on this BBS has played one. What makes everyone think the amp is really that versitle and good?

(Yes I have been to the website.......and listened to the samples............an yes I saw ALL the people who contributed to them.............)

.....I am not saying they are bad...they do look nice and sound good from the website............I am wondering about the infatuation.

I'm with you...
But I think GAS for amps and geetars is healthier than GAS for recording equipment.

Who was it who intruduced them to us? Wasn't it TrackRat? Look what you started..........you better be getting paid.........:)

I`ve heard Yngwie play trough one, sounded really crappy.....

Yngwie invited you over to hear him play through one?
Or you listened to the samples on the sight?

Cuz the samples on the sight, Yngwie kicked some serious ass, as usual....

Well, for me it has a lot to do with the fact that the Harlequin is 6 watts. I want tube craziness but without the volume a 50 watt head needs to get it. I'd really probably prefer the Hurricane (Harlequin's big brother), but the price is almost double. Same with the Hellcat — it's beyond my price range. Not that I have even $1000 on me or anything  .

There are other amps I've looked at online that interest me, but so many of the boutique amp sites don't have any sort of sound sample to at least get a small idea of how they sound. Since I'm not buying one tomorrow or anything, hopefully I'll get an opportunity to play a few of them in the near future. And I'm planning a trip to St. Louis to try out the Harlequin at Fazio's Music. Then you can change your statement from "No one on this BBS" to "Someone on this BBS," eh? :D :p :D

beaverbiscuit, Mike Fazio is a very good friend of mine. I live about three miles from there. You need to hook up with James at Fazios. He's the resident expert on pro audio there.

No kidding? That's too cool! I'll remember that when I drive over there. And thanks for the tip.

(Does James know you as Track Rat or by a, uh, less rodentary name? :D )

I subscribe to GT (Guitar Techniques), a British Guitar Tutorial type magazine, and it arrives monthly with a CD.

I would have to say that most of the lessons on the CD are recorded with a Cornforn amp ....they eveidently are some kind of sponsor.

I think the Cornfords have an appealng "boutique" sound to them.
