are there outputs on the 424mkiii that allow you to send all four tracks out and into another recorder so that each track is still it's own track and not a stereo mixdown...would there be any problems sending the tracks out this way into a roland vs1824 and remixing them there

Yes, there's 4 individual TAPE OUTs, w/RCA connectors.

The tape outs are a line level source. There shouldn't be any problems using the tape outs to the VS1840.
