Is there any way to get tracks from one project to another in Home Studio XL? I've tried to copy and paste Midi tracks from one project to another and it didn't work. It's actually the same project that I "saved as" a different name to experiment with.

Thanks,
Phil

Copy and paste works in Sonar, don't understand why it wouldn't in HS.

Are you sure you had the track in question highlighted when you copied, and you are pasting into a midi track?

Yes the track is highlighted and it doesn't matter whether I try to paste into a midi track or try to paste in an entire new track, the "paste" is still greyed out. I can copy and paste within the same project, but it doesn't seem to work from one project to another.

Copy-Paste From One Project To Another

Open up Home Studio XL
Click “Open a Project”
Choose a Project and highlight it
Click Open to open it.

File> “Open” to open another project.
Two projects are now on screen at the same time.

In the “track view” of one project, highlight a track
Edit> Copy> OK to the dialog box

In the “track view” of the other project, click on a track
Edit> Paste> OK to the dialog box

That's it!

One other thing.

Under Options> Global...

Uncheck the "Allow only one open project at a time" box.
