Darnold: sadly they are in practice hidden behind a very uninspiring screen. I once could buy one second hand, but waited to long. It still hurts whenever I see one.

Is it not true that the B.L.U.E mic visual design is similar to the original Neuman design. I think I saw that somewhere. If so, then the accolades being showered upon B.L.U.E. should be for Neuman's original mics.

the background of this type of mic is amazing. too bad nobody really knows about them for it to have a big impact in recordings. Its been around since the 1960s. Maybe we can help bring this thing alive.

Yup, Dragonfly all the way. The nice thing about BLUE mics is that the sound is just as impressive as the looks.

Someone a long time ago posted a link to a mic made out of a maglite flashlight and it was pretty cool looking. But unfortunately the site isn't up any more...

I also like the looks of the SE Electronics SE5000, too bad it doesn't sound as good as it looks.

Those American ribbons are some of my favorite mics looking too. Although, a few people who have them on this and other forums have told me that they are only OK sonically!
