I've been a musician for 40 years and home recording for 12 years or so, researching and studying audio engineering for just as long and I need to say that your instructional videos are the best produced and enjoyable of any I've ever seen.

Thank you so much and keep up the great work!

I need a blushing emoticon!! Thank you so much for the kind words. I am really learning as I go trying to put this thing together so it really makes me happy when I hear that people are enjoying it and getting something out of it. Thanks!!

modified toilet

I wish my toilet did that! I liked the teleportapotty. I thought it was a nice touch. I think they are just trying to make the show entertaining. Seems the real tips and training is in the tutorials.

Also, the reason they ran the theremin thru the amp instead of using a DI was to modify and get a particular type of sound. I thought that was a pretty good idea. I have now tried re-recording some of my tracks from Sonar by sending them out into a Fender Twin Reverb Amp and back into Sonar. I'm getting some cool effects.

At least Ronan doesn't go around spamming forums using automatic posting software. That MusicalTed guy (not real) came to my forum and posted exactly the same text about 5 or 6 different times. I got pissed and wrote to the plug-inhomerecording site admin to complain. He just sent me the usual "blow off" email. You know, the pre-written one that says, "Thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this issue..." He never asked me for Ted's IP address, any details, or anything.

That leads me to believe that those New Jersey guys are behind the postings themselves. I wouldn't help them spread the word around if I were you.

[end rant]

He spammed here too, I just deleted the others posts and kept just this one. Only because this one had positive replies.

Ive checked all the plumbing supply websites and it seems nobody is selling that product.

I like it better though when there is less stuff to sit through before you learn anything...that doesnt mean the guys cant have fun doing it and say a few funny things.

...which surprised me, since it was so blatantly spam.

I am MusicalTed and I'm not a bot or anything like that. I work as a part time intern at Showplace Studios where the show is filmed. I just took it upon myself to share this info with everyone because I thought it would be useful and enjoyable to anyone involved in recording. I'm new to the Forum World and I apologize if I broke any of the rules. Thank You for your understanding and not taking the thread down. It's a new show and we appreciate everyones comments and feedback so they can make it an even better show.

Hey Musical Ted. Welcome to the BBS.

What you did was a bit awkward and pretty much like spamming the site but... I don't think anyone wants to alienate you from here.

It would be real nice, seeing that you are interning, for you to share some insight to your experiences and views on audio.

I'm sure that would be more than welcome here too!

#5 alive - need input

Welcome to the site, MusicalTed. You came close to getting banned here like you did at some of the other sites. I invite to enjoy the community here and participate. If you come close to spamming or other Terms of Service violations, I, or the other mods, will let you know.

Thanks for coming back and setting the record straight.

Cool...you know what we need here...its a media function...so we can watch the videos without leaving the forum.

That was indeed big of you to come forward. I assumed it was automated software because your posts came through a proxy server, there were alias accounts from that same server, and duplicate posts. (Gee, for a beginner you were pretty slick. :D) But, I must admit there was no real damage done. Your boss even wrote to me again tonight to help clear things up further. That was cool as well. He personally addressed all of my concerns.

I know how you feel. We all want the world to know about our own websites. But the regular forum members don't want it forced upon them. They feel offended by that somehow. About the most we can get away with in forums is to put a link in our signature tag-line and hope that some folks notice it naturally and click it on their own time. If the site is good, they will tell friends and the traffic will come.

I am happy if you wish to become a contributing member. We need as many good friendly people with studio experience as we can get. Please join the party and jump into as many threads as you can. If you have lots of good advice the newbies will follow you like hungry goldfish.

I am willing to forget this whole thing if everyone else will. ;) ...And I'll be watching the videos.
