Cool Edit as software?

Hey there,

Been using Cool Edit for a long time now and I do believe it is quite good and fulfills it's purpose, but since I do lack experience I tought I'd lay this newbie question down here.

Is Cool Edit a good program for recording and producing software?
If yes, then how. If no, then why.

Yes I'm well aware of that, well not that specific but I knew it's old, very old software. But it seems to have most stuff, or am I missing out on some stuff when using it?

I actually used Cool edit pro for the longest and I loved it so if anything I would just upgrade to Adobe Audition 3.0..just my personal opinion.
