converting songs from zip disk to CD

Does anybody have some info on what's the best way to convert songs from zip disk (recorded on BR8) to a CD?
I've heard that I will need to buy a recording software like cakewalk, then get a computer with a zip drive and CD burner (obviously), and burn the songs this way.
Any help from the experienced would be appreciated.

I have a stand-alone cd burner, that has a opitical-in. You have to buy a opitical cable, plug one end in the BR-8's opitical-out to the cd burner's opitical-in. To do fade-outs, just slowly lower the master track flader volume.
