Converting from PC to Mac - DAW considerations

I'm gona chime in on this one. I used to run osx on a pc when there were companies selling that kind of rig commercially.

I don't anymore since apple (afaik) apple kicked their asses in court over it.


That aside, It can be simple and straight forward but the smart money says if you want it to be, It wont.

Depending on your hardware it can be a really really noob-unfriendly way to go.

Unless you have a lot of free time and patience, and a pretty good computer knowledge, I wouldn't bother with hackintosh at all.

I'm telling you, look up all the parts they put into a Mac on a PC parts site like Scan or something. All the same mobo, CPU, RAM, hard drives, etc. Tell me it doesn't come out cheaper for the exact same stuff. AND have that better ability to be modular.
 
Considering the retail osx discs won't even boot in a factory PC, they are not the "exact same"

They are similar, sure, but not the same.
