hey im trying to convert dozens, hundreds of analog audio into digital to match up time code with digital video stuff, my question, is there some kind of standard analog tape device that i can use that has some kind of time code and provides a high level of sound so i dont lose sound quality... something i could pick up at guitar center or something?
my concern is, what about all those tapes of mine i mixed down on old Fostex and Vestax 4 track machines that have since died, that i want to burn onto cd withotu losing any more sound quality than i already have, and im hoping to have at least some way of tracking them, do i need to get a dat player or something, or just a good stereo tape deck, hopefully something semi-portable, although that's not a requirement, shit this is sounding like a personal ad... throw in a good personality for good measure.
