converting a peavy kb300 amp into a bass bin?

Hey. A wee bit off topic. I have an old peavy kb300 combo keyboard amp that I would like to convert (use the guts of) into a bass bin for live performance. Could anyone point me to or offer advice on how to do this right. I assume that I could, more or less, remove the horn and just use the remaining 15" black widow speaker and power amp.

What I'm going to do is simply this. Run the line out of my crossover into channel A of the amp. Duct tape over the horn and sew a slip cover in black material to hide the obvious fact of it being a keyboard amp. Fast, cheap, self powered bass bin, for the small rooms I play. Untill I can afford some real ones.
