Hi everybody
I'm concidering buying an adat-converter/preamp for my fostex vf160ex. I have looked at behringer ada8000 and the pricier Digimax Presonus, Mackie Onyx 800r, octane 8 and focusrite octopre.
These units converts in 24-bit, and the Fostex records in 16-bit. Does this mean that the best converter for me would be one that can dither from 24 to 16-bit? Among the converters I have mentioned, I think only the Octopre gives this dithering-option. How important is dithering for the audio-quality?
Thanks,
Sniixer
