I've been having this problem for a few months now and just can't seem to figure it out. From my mixers monitor outs, I use two 1/4" to rca connectors and connect those to an rca connector (red and black, left and right) to a 100 watt stereo receiver (I think its a Techniques brand or something of that name) 4 to 8 ohms.
I hook the other ends of the rca connectors into the auxillary on the stereo receiver. I use tannoy reveals as the monitors and hook those up to the receiver as well.
I like the sound I am getting and it works out good, except every now and then I lose the left speaker. So I have to turn down the amplifier and disconnect the two 1/4" connectors coming out of my mixers monitor outs and put them back in again. Then it will usually work again. I thought, OK its the rca cords, but when I jiggle the connections, it never seems to correct the problem. I always have to take them out of the mixer.
I have tried new 1/4" to rca connectors and also tried a new rca cord (this could be the problem since its the cheap $4.00 kind).
If you do think it might be the rca cord, are there any brands that you might recommend? I just want to see if anyone had any suggestions of what the problem could be before I buy my next rca cord, or 1/4" to rca connectors.
Thanks
