Rzzzzz!
Are the consumer grade audio CD recorders good enough for mixdown?

I'm thinking about getting a Philps or some such to dump recordings to CD with.

Of course, I'm only concerned with CD-R's with optical inputs in them.

Hi there ,i´ve just bought a Yamaha cdw3200E last week, probably the best on it´s price range.
Go and do a search on it´s name and read the buz about them.Excelent choice for me...the closest to a pro.expensive standalone unit.Trust me..!

I have a phillips. I'm not impressed at all with the converters. Not only that, but I don't think the dynamic range is all that good. I also have a tascam burner so the differences are easy to hear.

I would recommend that sony cdr. I think it runs 500 bucks and uses audio only media.

Did a search

Can't find this on the web.

Are you sure this is consumer grade? The Yamaha recorders tend to lean toward the pricier side.
