Connectors

Ok, this is a simple question...

My interface only has 1/4" outputs...I'm going to be making some mic cables: xlr input on some outboard gear, 1/4" output from the interface.

Should the 1/4" be TRS? I have bunch of TS from guitar cables, but that wouldn't be balanced right?

You've got it.
If you want them to be balanced then you'd have to use TRS connectors.
