Connecting the Joemeek OneQ to My Mac?

Hey There,
I'm about to buy a Neumann microphone and was thinking of the Joemeek oneQ as the pre-amp for some vocals I need to record for an album.

I'm doing it on my Mac I've decided... but notice the JoeMeek doesn't have a firewire connection.

How do I get the high quality vocal audio into my computer without loosing quality? I'm wondering if recording into the computer via a firewire connection will defeat the purpose of spending so much money on the Neumann and Joemeek.

As for the first question, you can go with the mbox2 mini for the soundcard.
 
The OneQ has coaxial and optical S/PDIF out, as well as AES/EBU. We're only talking about one channel. Any interface with almost any digital input and USB out will do. You don't need firewire:

S/PDIF out of the OneQ > S/PDIF onto the Fast Track > USB out of the Fast Track > whatever software you want. There are probably cheaper ways to do it, but I don't know of a cheaper well built unit with S/PDIF in and USB out. That plan, of course, means using the converter in the Joemeek, which is fine. It is as good a converter as you're going to get without spending *a bunch* of money. Sure, if you want to get an Apogee or Lucid converter, you'll get better conversion, but you'll want to use it with your Avalon, Pendulum, John Hardy, etc. preamp- 5 Grand or so- No problem. You didn't want to be married anyway. I understand- you'll miss her.-Richie
