Looking at it, all i can think of it using a "Y" cables from PGM Out - into the digi

sorry i dont remember the 520 specificlly... but you said it had 8 busses??? each of those 8 should feed one input of the 002...

yeah it has 8 busses. In the manual it says to use the xlr outputs for
studio monitors and headphone/cue. But after a closer look there are
1/4" outputs for st master a & b. So i'm guessing those xlr outs go
into the inputs of the digi right?

are we confusing busses with channels??? 8 inputs??? and stereo outs maybe??? do the individual channels have outputs as well??? those would be great to use if it does... if all there is is a stereo pair then yep use them... if there are several stereo outs it may not matter which you use... if any of them are balanced i'ld start with them... whether they are on xlr or trs... though yould probably be better off with the trs as i think of it cause your xlr inputs on your 002 aren't gonna like line level inputs...

nono its a 20 channel / 8 bus console. like this

Yes, all 20 channels of direct outs, but i'd like to use all 20 channels
and bus them down to 8 to send into the digi.

On the rear it has:
8 XLR outputs (referr to my above comment)
PGM Out, 8 stereo outputs 1/4"

Plus other otus for aux,

cool thanx for the pic... yeah use the xlrs... but watch the cabling you use because the xlr's on the digi are goonna be mic level so make or buy xlr to trs cables... these guy's are pretty resonable for price and quality
