Connecting midi keyboard to computer?

If I get an M-Audio Uno cable to connect my keyboard to something like garage band, will I be able to record with all the different sounds that come on the keyboard?
For example, if I want to record a song using only the laser beam sound or the french horn sound or ANYTHING that comes on the keyboard, will it record correctly onto the music editing program?
 
Not over the Uno. It's just a MIDI interface. You can only record MIDI or playback MIDI files across the Uno.

To recordthe sounds off the keyboard you need an audio interface.
 
An audio interface? Can you send me some info about that? I'm really new to this (obviously) and I've never heard of it...
