Connecting keyboard to computer

Here's the deal:

I have a Roland Fantom X7 keyboard that I want to connect to my laptop via usb. I want to run it with Fruity Loops, so that I can do my mixing on there while I'm still a newb. Besides connecting the cable, what else do I have to do in order to get sound out of my computer speakers while playing from my keyboard and be able to record from my keyboard onto fruity loops??

Any suggestions?
