I am looking for guidance in regards to connecting my xenyx 1002b and saffire pro 24.
I use Acid on a pc and ableton on a mac. I understand both of those programs very well, where I am having trouble is interacting with the outside world. I have a Behringer Xenyx 1002b Mixer and a Saffire pro 24 audio interface, as well as a Live Wire HA204 headphone amp. I would like to be able to route both DAW's into the mixer, then into the headphone amp for listen back. I would also like to route instruments and vocals through the xenyx 1002b mixer (utilizing the insert jacks/fx sends for external effects - which I pretty much understand how to do) into the ableton rig through the saffire.
I am unsure how to set myself up correctly, not having much experience with hardware. All of my learning thus far has been in the software programs I use.
I am also confused as to which phantom power I would use if both the mixer and interface are being used.
Any help or direction to instruction websites/videos would be very much appreciated.

Thank you,
tabletop

I'd skip the Behr mixer, if I were you. Not sure what external FX units you have that you want to use, but using them through the cheap mixer's system is not going to help you at all. If you insist on using the mixer, plug it's main ouputs into the line-ins on the back of the Focusrite.
Plug your headphone amp into the headphone output of the Focusrite.

Thank you, that is what I ended up doing. The mixing console that came with the saffire seems to handle all the headphone mixing needs I have as well. A very nice unit.
thanks

I'm curious if Acid and Ableton are 'Rewire' capable. You might look into that to connect the two DAW's digitally.
