Connecting a VTB1...

My Fostex VF80 has both XLR (3Kohm impedence) and 1/4" (40Kohm impedence) inputs... What would be the QUIETEST connection from a Stdio Projects VTB1? Using the VTB1 XLR outputs (100ohm) to the XLR inputs on the VF80? The VTB1 line outputs (300ohm) to the line input on the VF80? Or some other? Or is it a wash? Assume the gain on the VF80 would be turned all the way down, using only the VTB1 as the preamp.

Use the line IN. If you use the XLR in, you defeat the purpose of using the VTB1. The VTB1 LINE outs go to the VF80 LINE ins.
