Connecting a Midi Controller?

Is a midi in/out on an interface the fastest way to get my audio to my computer? As of right now, I have my motif xf8 connected via usb to my computer, but it has a substantial amount of lag between my pressing a note and it registering on the computer. Will midi be the same way? Or will it be much more on time?

MIDI is not audio. If you connect your Motif via MIDI you will only record the MIDI control signals. If you want to record the audio output, determine the source of the latency - what DAW are you using? What interface?

Sounds like he has a straight connection with a MIDI-USB cable...

What are you trying to do here? Record? With what? And do some basic reading up on what MIDI is for your own sake...
