I'm comming out with a 12 track album in october and I'm confused about some of the things I want to do. Should I make a seperate 4 demo cd to send to A&R's? Also, does anyone have any critiques on websites that sell your music? soundclick.com, CDbaby, amazon.com??? Anyone have any good or bad experiences?

do u play live? i think you are better off selling your album at shows...if its demo quality just sell it for a couple bucks....i wouldnt even think of making any money off of this yet...just try to get exposure...try to get reviews in local arts papers and any fan magazines relating to whatever genre you are playing in.....also most A and R people will not listen to an unsolicited demo...especially a major one...for legal reasons.

get the demo in the hands of an agent, lawyer, booking agent, etc...rather than wasting a lot of time mailing out stuff to AR people...you could try sending the demo to your favorite bands especially if they are not major label...they might give it a listen which would be cool...

just my 2 cents

Sell your cd at as many websites as possible. Have fun and learn the business in the mean time. Use your first independent cd as a business card to the next level. Indie labels, majors, etc. Never sign anything exclusive unless you thinks it's worth it. :)
