Ok. First of all, im a total newbie when it comes to recording.
Anyway I play guitar and would like to record via USB on my laptop with softwares like guitar rig, amplitube (effect processors).
I've heard that Emu 0404 USB is a great soundcard, but i've also heard that line 6 ux is good.
(here's the link to line6 ux for specs: http://line6.com/podstudioux2/ )

I somehow assume that Emu 0404 has better sound + i could use it to play music on my PC.
But here's my dilema... would my Emu 0404 play just as good (or better) as line6 ux when i plugged guitar in or would i need some sort of preamp?

Thanks!

P.S. I didn't know where to post this, on guitar forum or here, so I posted here coz of some previous emu topics. Sorry for my lame english :)

If your new to recording I recommend the Line 6 pod studio, easy to use, decent drivers for xp and vista, you can use included gearbox amp sims or mic your amp.
Guitar rig works with it too,

Not really a fan of EMU,had problems with buggy half arsed drivers and poor support.Thats just my opinion though probably many here get on OK with it:)

Guitar Rig also has it's own interface specifically made for guitars and is integrated with Guitar Rig to control it's pedals and such. If you got that and you pretty much only record guitar you won't need a separate interface.
