I am about to built some bass traps until i find myself confuse about it. I was wondering if bass traps is use to eliminate/absorbs low frequency out of the corner of a room or to enhance the lows where we are suppose to monitor from..... Currently from where i am monitoring[home] i could felt that there is some lack of lows..... So is this appropriate to add the bass traps?? Thnx and appreciated for any help :).

Bass traps absorb a wide range of frequencies, including bass. Most other absorbtive panels are more effective at the mid and high range, leaving the bass. The reason that bass traps are placed in corners is that bass standing waves tend to set themselves up corner to corner, that being the longest dimension in a room. Your room could in fact have plenty of bass but your listening position is where two standing waves intersect and cancel each other out. Is the bass stronger elsewhere in the room? Testing is the best way of seeing what your room is really doing.
