We're not really total strangers, despite the fact we've never met in person and we're scattered around the world. In sociology, we would be considered a community. The forum allows you instant access to others in the hom rec community. There must be internet forums on every topic imaginable (including feline scatology for those of you so inclined). The phenomenom of internet forums is huge and worth serious academic study.
