I just got in my new AKG C 2000 B and a Behringer UB502. I hooked up my condenser to the mixer with the XLR cord, then from the tape out on the mixer to the line in on the sound card. I record using Adobe Audition, when I select a track to record on and start recording, it pics up the noise from the mixer, but it won't pic up the mic. I tried hooking up my headphones to the mixer, but I can't hear anything from the mic still. All the equipment and wire's are brand new, they just came in the mail today. Can someone please help me???

Yes - just checked the specs and the mic needs phantom power which the mixer does NOT provide.

Sorry for the bad news...

Solutions:

- get a different mixer that provides phantom power and keep your mic. Looks like a nice mic from the literature I read.....

- get a different (dynamic) mic that doesn't require phantom power.

Maybe the place you bought it from will let you trade in .... :D

Happy Shopping!

Thank you for you help, I'll just keep the mic and buy either a pre-amp or a mixer with phantom power.
