Well since I get scorned for trying to save the guy a few bucks another suggestion would be a Rode pretty much a standard in home recording or probably get slammed on this to. Hell even a dam SP B1 are not bad the truth is 3 bills isn't a lot for a condenser mic personally I would use a ribbon over a LCD or SCD but you notice my opinon aint shit here your recorder pres aint the best and so just about any brand of LCD or SCD . Until you start investing in 3-5k for single micpre API Great River and 10K for A/D converters with link cards and 50k on a console that's when your gonna start noticing which mic sounds like shit.
Once again I disagree.... What's your favorite color, maybe we can find something else to talk about.

You just like to disagree and I like to argue so what do you wanna argue about now Ribbons vs LCD and SCD's makes a great arguement.

I do not like to disagree, I just seemed compelled by your.......oops there I go....
Okay, about ribbons, I have five, a Beyer 260 and 500, and three chinese, two under the group purchase. They get a lot of use on vox and cabs. I still like dynamics on drums, probably cuz it took me the longest to get drums right and now I don't want to screw anything up.
I love ribbons everywhere else though, but my sdc's and ldc's (especially the tubes) get just as much air play

Well BK we do agree on something Ribbons are awesome for guitar cabs when they tracked Angus Youngs cab out they stuck a Royer upside down along with a SM57 then used a 1073 it was the funniest dam thing I ever seen but hey it worked great.

break it up you two!! i went with the shure ksm 27...i looked up a couple reviews on stuff you guys mentioned and this seemed like the all around way to go thanks alot for your input guys this board is pretty cool when you need an idea...the mic sounds good so far , makes my acoustic sound better than it is!

What about MXL 2001 and MXL 603s that comes in anniversary pack? The price is pretty good deal. I read lots of good reviews of 603s but I'm not sure about 2001.

the 2001 is'nt a very good. the 603 sounds good if you need a bright sdc.

Travisin, Thanks... I'm interested to know which one is better SM58 or 2001? I read in this forum that 990 is better than SM58.

I have an SM58 and I love it. I will find out about the MXL990 tomarrow night.

Ahhh...you replied in that thread too about the audio samples...:)
