Condenser Mic Problems

I have a CAD Trion 8000 and its hooked into a Xenyx 1204FX mixer. Usually I have it hooked through a couple XLRs into my M-Audio sound card, and run it on pro tools at my studio. I also have a completely padded vocal booth. I tried to bring the Mic home and plug it through its USB connection and record on Reaper, but I'm getting a horrible echo. Same with Acid. I'm wondering if its my living room picking up too much noise or if im doin something wrong.

Probably you are getting feedback through your mixer--some channel that is monitoring the PC output is also feeding the input. That, combined with the PC or mixer's latency is causing the echo.

Check the Xenyx manual and try twisting some knobs . . .
